Our approach

The work begins before you arrive

The biggest risk on a documentary shoot is arriving to find that a key character has gone cold, a location has changed or an institution has denied access. We eliminate that risk by beginning our work weeks or months before your production date. By the time your director lands in Barcelona, every door we have promised to open is already open.

Albert Mercadé spent two decades building editorial relationships with the politicians, activists, academics and cultural figures who animate Catalan public life. Elisabet Borreda served inside the Generalitat and knows how institutions make decisions about media access. Together we provide a level of pre-production research and facilitation that a production house renting a local fixer for a week simply cannot replicate.

Academic & NGO contacts

Deep networks in civil society

Documentary journalism about Catalonia and Spain requires more than politicians and spokespeople. We have built long-standing relationships with academics at the UPF, UAB, UB and UPC; researchers at think tanks including CIDOB and ICPS; senior figures at organisations including Òmnium Cultural, SOS Racisme and the Sindicat de Llogateres.

We also maintain connections with the city's investigative journalism community — through Elisabet's leadership of the Grup Ramon Barnils — which gives us access to deep-background sources that take years to cultivate.

Key capabilities

What makes us the right documentary partner

Pre-production research

Detailed briefing packs, character profiles and source maps delivered before your shoot begins. We reduce surprises so your production days are productive.

Long-term relationship management

We maintain access to subjects across multi-month productions — keeping relationships warm, rescheduling when needed and navigating access refusals diplomatically.

Story development

We work at the story level, not just the logistics level. We can help develop a story angle, identify the strongest characters and map out a narrative architecture.

Let's develop your story together

Share your treatment, your timeline and the access you need. We will tell you what is possible and what it takes to make it happen.
